Minecraft iron farm first look

How to Make an Iron Farm in Minecraft Bedrock & Pocket Edition (Step-by-Step Guide)

The iron farm is the most useful in Minecraft. Not only because of hype, but also because of its use cases, there are many iron farms. They give an iron ingot, and iron is the most demanding item on Minecraft for every small or large work if you want to make any other farms! You need iron if you want to build some structure! You want an iron and any other work, like building a base, a secret base. Also, iron can make many items, tools, and armors, and many crafting recipes include iron.

Iron mainly comes from two ways! First is to mine and second is to create an iron farm where iron golems are trapped in the farm and burned, and the golem drops an iron ingot (2 to 5 each iron golem). In mining, we go to mine in caves and manually mine them, but on the iron farm, we just want to make it one time properly, and we get iron unlimited. So we are going with a second method to create an iron farm. Let’s get started.

The iron farm-making process is also very simple and beginner-friendly for all players. Read this full blog to know how to make this farm properly.

What you need ( resource)

  • Villagers (30)
  • beds (30)
  • fletching table (30)
  • Signs (9)
  • Torch (10)
  • Water Buckets (2)
  • Lava Bucket (1)
  • Hoppers (9)
  • Chests (3)
  • Tree Leaves (80)
  • Glass (48)
  • Building Blocks (Any Block you want 1000+)

Suggestion:  Don’t make this farm near the village! Make this farm a 100+ block distance from the village; otherwise, iron golems spawn in the village. And don’t use any light blocks on the farm; otherwise, the iron golem will not spawn.

How do Iron Golems Spawn?

In Minecraft Bedrock and Pocket Edition, an iron golem is spawned by villagers. If a village has 10 villagers, a 75% chance to spawn an iron golem in the village. Mostly, they spawn at night to protect themselves from mobs like zombies and zombie villagers. Also, if a villager count is large, like 25 or more villagers, and most of the villagers have a job, they will spawn an iron golem normally to protect the entire villagers’ community. So now you know how iron golems spawn, let’s dive into the making process.

Step-by-Step Building Process

Preparing the Area

Start with finding a perfect location on your Minecraft world, which can help you build it easily, work very well, and not cause any problems when removing the farm in the future. These are the 3 best tips to find a perfect location for this farm:

  1. Avoid making this farm near any village. Minimum, make this farm 100 blocks away from the village.
  2. Select the best biome in your world, like Plains, forest, savanna, dark forest, and many more. In my opinion, the best place to create this farm is the Plains biome! If your Minecraft base is in another biome and you want to create the farm near your base, you can—just make sure to avoid cold biomes because a farm needs water to work properly, in cold biomes, water freezes and stops the farm.
  3. Find a flat surface for your farm. That’s because sometimes if an area is not flat, the iron golem can spawn on the surface, and we never want that. So, make sure to find a flat surface. Ya, a normal area is also fine, but avoid mountains. A 30×30 block flat area is the minimum requirement.

Item Collection System

  • First place 3 chests on one side, and below the chest place 9 hoppers in a 3×3 area, and all connect with chests.
  • Cover this entire3×4 system with glass blocks for up to 4 blocks ( to see what a farm looks like ).
  • Continue to place blocks on top of the glass blocks up to 20 blocks high ( now you can see a long upside-down tunnel).

Killing Chamber

  • One more thing to do is create a killing chamber under a tunnel.
  • Got the inside of it and place a sign board of 2 blocks upside down of the hoppers, and after placing that all 9 signs, then place a lava bucket on top of the sight ( don’t panic lava can’t burn wooden sign in Minecraft ).
  • And come outside, and your killing chamber is ready.

Villagers and beds platforms

  • After completing the upside-down tunnel, now straight down only for 4 blocks, and make a 17×6 blocks platform for each. One for the villagers and the second for beds.
  • Now, place a 30 job block( fletching table ) as a wall of the villagers’ platform(fill the other wall area with building blocks so villagers can’t escape the box).
  • On the other platform, place 30 beds and cover all of the beds with building blocks so villagers can never interact with that, and can only connect with the beds.

Remember: Don’t forget to place torches on the villagers’ platform.

How to reach a villager on top of the platform?

  • That is a very common problem with all of them who don’t know how to transport properly, but it is very simple.
  • You can use rail for transportation, and you don’t want to transport all 30 villagers; you just want to transport only 2 villagers who have a job, and after transporting the 2 villagers, just give them some bread and magic! You have 30 villagers ( do that process after placing all beds on the other side ).

Main platform

  • After finishing the lower 2 platforms, got up and cover all of them.
  • Must Remember: the roof area size must be 21×21 blocks.
  • Now add a border layer on the roof, all sides up to 4 blocks, and that’s the upper layer. Place a layer of leaves (to spawn the iron golem in a roof border )
  • In all corners, make another layer of building blocks for water to flow properly.

Water source

  • Use two water buckets to create an infinite water source by creating a small 4×4 box and placing two water buckets on the cross sides, which makes an infinite water source.
  • Now, an empty area is for a water source; fill all of them with water.
  • Remember, don’t place water on all empty blocks; just place water in the selected part, as shown in this image below.
  • After placing all water sources at a perfect angle, water looks like it flows all the way through the upside-down tunnel.
  • After completing this! Congratulations, you are creating a simple and fast iron golem farm in Minecraft Bedrock and Pocket Edition.

Testing Your Farm

  • After completing your farm and waiting for 3 to 5 days, for some reason, let you know the way.
    1. A villager sometimes does slow breeding, and a baby villager takes real life 20 minutes ( 1 day in Minecraft), so after all, the baby grows up, then the iron farm works properly.
    2. Remember: Monitor your villager platform room, and if you find a villager in green clothes (meaning a villager who never does any job ), then finish them very early and wait for another baby villager to grow up.
    3. If your villager is not breeding, give more bread or carrots to increase their breeding probability.
  • After all of this is fixed, wait for one night AFK near your farm.
  • And now your farm is fully functional, and you have unlimited iron in Minecraft.

Conclusion

  • In Minecraft Bedrock and Pocket Edition, the iron farm is kind of different to build, but it works the same as Java’s iron farm, which works even better.
